Sunset Presbyterian Church is a member of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC).
On July 20, 2011, Session prayerfully approved making application to become a member of the new Presbytery of the Pacific of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC). Session made this unanimous decision after seeking input from the Denomination Strategy Team, studying the congregational survey results, consulting with and listening to our staff members, and having conversations with many of you in our congregation. Since we have decided to continue with the decision made two years ago by the congregation to join the EPC, this decision to apply to EPC to move from the transitional presbytery to the regular presbytery is simply a procedural step that does not require another vote of the congregation. We have greatly appreciated your prayers and cooperation as we have prayed and deliberated over this important decision.
We believe, hope and pray that this decision to join the new Presbytery of the Pacific (EPC) accords with God’s will for Sunset. Please pray that God will continue to bless Sunset as we look forward—with great anticipation!—to what He has planned for us.
