English Students

Welcome to Sunset ESL, English for speakers of other languages

Sunset ESL is a community language program for beginning and intermediate-level English learners. English classes are for adults. Children’s classes are offered in fall, winter and spring for infants to 5th graders. Children’s classes include language, culture, science and Bible stories. “Homework Club” is available for older children to do homework or other quiet activities.

Information for 2010 - 2011

• Fall Registration: September 18, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
   Classes: Saturdays, September 25 – November 20
                Wednesdays, September 28 – November 17
• Winter Registration: January 15, 2011, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
   Classes: Saturdays, January 22 – March 12
                Wednesdays, January 26 – March 16
• Spring Registration: April 2, 8:30 a.m.
Classes: Saturdays, April 2 – May 21
               No class on Saturday, April 23 (Easter weekend)

Registration

• All participants—new and returning students—must register.
• New students will take a placement test to determine their level.
• Late registrants may be placed on a waiting list if classes are full.
• Registration is $10.00 per adult.
• Children’s registration and classes are free.
• Textbooks may be purchased for $19.

Classes

• Saturdays, for all students, adults and children. 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon
• Wednesdays, conversation for adults, 7-9 pm
• Location: All classes are at Sunset Presbyterian Church in the East Wing, LEFT from the main driveway.

Materials

• Bring paper and a pencil or pen to write with.
• Textbooks are available for purchase.
• Adults who purchase a book at the time of registration will receive a $4 discount.
• All materials and supplies are provided for children.
